Solo exhibition "L'immaginario corporeo" curated by Aurelio De Rose. Gallery "Studio d'Arte Croma", Rome.
With this spring exhibition in Rome Nadia Pronina
shows oil paintings that represent an absurd
figurative game thematic composed of human body and
nature elements. Appearing anxious both for definition
and conformation of the "humans", she moves her
characters to the thin and obscure landscapes
indefinable in their exclusive naturalistic
background.
Her visions become not only fruit of particular
sensibility but also depict Eastern Europe social
transformations, anatomized in their entirety.
Analysing those deep changes and expressing it through
series of allegories she starts a search for vital
solutions and consequently creates expressive context
facing tragic existential themes of life, love and
death.
Trying to stay around these themes, her artwork not
only manifests spontaneity of the moment but above all
proposes an original wish to escape to a new life
through figurative expressions full of interior
impatience.
These works, cold at first glance in their imaginary,
form author's vision of a humanized "imago" concept,
where desolate and often tenebrous characters conceal
secluded and sensitive love they are willing to offer.
